Abstract: | We report on progress in the development of a fluoride microstructured fibre with large mode area, good beam quality and low loss in the mid-infrared. The fibre demonstrates reduced loss of 7 dB/m and beam quality of M2~2.4 at 4.7 μm in a basic mid-IR beam delivery geometry. |
