Abstract: Service firms have played an increasingly important role in the prosperity of global and national economies. Nevertheless, there has been very limited research attention given to the international performance of service providers. Our study attempts to fill in this gap, by investigating firm specific characteristics as success drivers of Australian service exporters. The research findings indicate that international experience and management commitment of the firm are significant predictors of its exporting success. In addition, commitment of resources has an indirect impact on the performance of the firm. The study contributes to the theoretical development of the international services marketing literature, and yields several relevant implications for business practitioners.
