Abstract: | Under South Australia's land use planning system local councils have a pivotal role as both initiators of planning policy and as decision-making authorities on applications for development authorisation. Thus, the release for public consultation on 8 May 1997 of a draft by the Minister for Housing and Urban Development is a matter of considerable relevance and interest to local government in that State. |
