Abstract: Investigates the behaviour of TCP bulk file transfer application sessions in a broadband access environment. Introduces some concepts for evaluating network behaviour: a path instability parameter for analyzing different TCP connections; a minimum RTT delay and a minimum typical path for estimating path characteristics between a client and application servers.
