Abstract: | We demonstrate controlled, adiabatic tapering of pressurized bismuth hexagonal microstructured optical fibers, enabling holes of diameters < 300 nm, with controlled collapse, and core sizes < 1 μm using an elliptical CO2 laser beam profile. |
