Recent challenges for the Australian aged care industry emphasize the need to maintain a high quality of care, influenced by the effectiveness of aged care worker selection processes including personality assessments. This review of the literature explored existing empirical evidence for personality assessments and their utility as predictors of future job performance in applied settings. The outcome of this review suggests that personality assessments can provide useful insights into a candidate’s personality in relation to future job performance. However, further research is required into the validation of personality assessments for selecting ideal aged care workers in diverse aged care settings.en
